A Message from the Chaplain – Father Huw Mordecai

ChaplainAs Chaplain I have fun visiting The Buchan School - the pupils there are always so lively and keen to be involved in everything that is going on. I take an Assembly on Monday mornings for the Buchan, and then go down to the Pre-Prep to meet the pupils there as well. I want these occasions to be lively and engaging, so that the children can draw on their own experiences and see how God is part of their lives already. There are also special services, at times such as Harvest, Christmas and Easter, when parents are invited to come and share in our worship together. The needs of the children are always paramount, and I want to create services that meet the needs the particular age group involved.

In addition, as Chaplain I have a Pastoral duty to all members of the school, staff and students alike. Anyone can come and talk to me about any issue that is troubling them, safe in the knowledge that was has been said will remain confidential between us. I will give them whatever help I can, and I will pray for them. Finally I try to be around, and involved in as many parts of school life as possible. King William’s College is a wonderful place, at every level, and I want to do all I can to support the splendid things its members are doing.
