On Saturday the Buchan Little Choir and the Buchan Girls’ Choir went to the Manx Music Festival. There were lots of other schools there, and although we didn’t win I think we did very well.
The scores were all very close and the judge said that if the classes for the rest of the week were as close or hard to judge he may go home early!
The little choir sang ‘We are the children’, and ‘Amani Utupe’. When the scores were given out he said that our tone was very clear, and that our words were precise and we were very expressive, we scored 82 and Onchan Primary School won.
The girls’ choir sang ‘The Music Makers’, then ‘Spin Wheel Spin’. He said he especially liked the second song, and that we sang it with fluency and enthusiasm, and he said we were energetic with power on the high notes. We scored 83 and the winners were Scoill Vallajeelt.
Lots of people told us we looked very smart, and it was great fun to be able to represent Buchan. Next year we are going to win!
