Buchan wins Isle of Man Tag Rugby Championships

On Wednesday 24th February, the IOM National Tag Rugby finals were held at the NSC, Douglas.  The top 2 teams from each of the area tournaments (north, south, east and west) were present and, as Buchan were the winners and runners-up of the Southern Schools' tournament, we were represented by two teams.  Both teams played tremendously well against some very strong opposition with our B team finishing 5th out of the original 32 teams and our A team winning all 5 of their matches to retain the title of Isle of Man Tag Rugby Champions.

The competition has now been running for three years and Buchan have been the winners on all three occasions.  They will now again progress to the UK National Finals at Rugby School in July with nineteen other schools (out of an original entry of 1600 schools).  The top two teams at Rugby School will then play the final at Twickenham before an England match in front of 85,000 people.  What an opportunity !
