Christmas celebrations for Pre.Prep and Prep. pupils

The pupils from the Pre-Prep Department performed their own version of the Nativity Story in the Chapel of St. Thomas at King William's College on Thursday 3rd December at 2.30p.m.

All the pupils took part: P3 boys and girls reading as narrators, pupils in P2 and P1 were dressed as angels, stars, shepherds, sheep, innkeepers, kings, camels , donkey and Mary and Joseph.

Parents were very generous and donated £550 to Hospice care for Children.

Thanks to Mr. Gareth Moore, Miss Mills, parent helpers, Bridget the donkey and all Pre-Prep staff (and the weather was fine that afternoon!). Ee aw!    from Bridget the donkey as we came out of the chapel (10 times)   She was pleased to see all the angels!

On Thursday 9th December the annual Buchan School Carol Service took place in the Chapel at King William's College.  The choir, under the direction of Liz Green, Sue Mills and Gareth Moore, sang beautifully, as did the soloists.  The lessons were read by a parent, Mr Aycock, members of staff (The Headteacher and retiring assistant chef Val Chorley) and  pupils from Forms 1-4; every word could be clearly heard, so well done, everyone. The highlight of the service proved to be the singing of 'Every Christmas' by the whole Prep Department; it was sung with such enthusiasm and verve that the congregation burst into spontaneous applause.  There was a retiring collection for local charities.  This service is always a wonderful start to our Christmas festivities as it reminds us all of the true meaning of this time of year.
