Buchan 6 minutes from Twickenham

In early July, a team from the Buchan School travelled to the National Tag Rugby Finals at Rugby School in Warwickshire.  Out of an initial entry of over 3,000 schools, the final 20 compete each year at the famous school, with the top two teams on the day progressing to Twickenham, where the final is played in front of 85,000 people just before an England Autumn International match.

The Buchan School Celebrates Founder’s Day

The Buchan School recently celebrated Founder’s Day, an annual prize-giving ceremony held in a marquee in the school grounds in which pupil achievement in both the Pre-Prep and Prep schools is recognised and celebrated. Tribute was also paid to Laura, Lady Buchan, who founded the school 135 years ago. The core values both in life and education were highlighted by the speakers, whose audience included pupils, parents, staff and Governors.

Official opening of the Buchan Schools’ Bandstand

On the afternoon of Wednesday 16 June, in the glorious sunshine, The Buchan School’s beautiful new bandstand was officially opened.  A sparkling programme of bright and tuneful music orchestrated and conducted by Miss Sue Mills, Head of Music, was played by the school’s Awesome Orchestra supported by the music peripatetic teachers, some staff members and a King William’s College pupil.

'School Daze' - Form 4 Leavers' Production

'School Daze' will be performed by the Form 4 leavers, also featuring Form 3 pupils, with special guests 'The Pippa Salter Dancers' Jump Gang' in the Buchan gym on Wednesday 30 June at 2.30 pm and Thursday 1 July at 7 pm.
