Friends at Buchan

Friends At Buchan (or FAB as we are invariably called) was founded in November 2005 and is the Fund Raising “arm” of the Buchan School. Although recently formed, we have already made quite an impression!

The aim of FAB is to promote the wider welfare of The Buchan School and we achieve this by bringing together parents of children from all stages of the school - from Nursery to Form 4 – so that they can meet each other and mix with staff in an informal setting at a wide variety of social events.

To date, we have:  

• published children’s self portrait calendars;
• hosted a series of James’ School Dinners;
• held a Gourmet Food & Wine Evening ;
• organised various themed parties, including  Buffalo Bill’s Birthday (with line dancing and rodeo games), Pirates & Princesses, High School Musical and a “Heroes and Villains” Spring Fair.
• designed our own Christmas cards;
• held Easter egg hunts;
• supported our sports days with afternoon teas

- to name only a few of our projects.  In doing so we have raised money for a state of the art sound system for the gym, new outdoor adventure play equipment AND had lots of fun in the process!

As always we have some new and exciting projects in the pipeline and would welcome any additional new suggestions and support.
